Welcome to Morning Etude St. Louis
The Morning Etude music club was established over 100 years ago for adults in the St. Louis region who love music, whether they are performing or listening to it. We are a member of the Missouri Federation of Music Clubs and the National Federation of Music Clubs. Our mission is to work with one another and other local music organizations to develop and maintain high musical standards, aid and encourage musical education, and promote American music and American artists.
The club meets twice monthly from October – May for themed programs performed by our members for our members and guests. We are singers, instrumentalists and lovers of the arts who find fellowship in the sharing of music.
Club Benefits
Semi-Monthly Performances
Our club has two performances each month. We share information about the composers and pieces we play in order to provide the audience with a deeper understanding of the music they will hear. For seniors who have challenges driving at night, we have a morning meeting on the 1st Wednesday. For those who have day jobs, we have a meeting on the third Monday evening. We encourage our members to attend both and support each other's performances.
Community Outreach
Friends 4 Music is the philanthropic arm of Morning Etude. They perform at senior living centers in the St. Louis region, bringing music from the past which most residents recognize into their home today. Our performers encourage audience participation in singing and some limited movement, in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Social Events
In addition to our monthly meetings we have social events, luncheons, picnics and outings to other musical performances in the St. Louis region.
Our members are also members of the state and national federations. They receive the national Music Clubs magazine and can participate in state or national conventions.
We offer an annual Young Musicians Award program in the spring for voice, piano and strings open to students ages 14-19 with cash awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
